A Concert for Kayleen
Thank you to everyone who attended A Concert for Kayleen at Club Kawana on July 28. Hear and Say was deeply touched to have been named the beneficiary of the event and to help continue Kayleen’s wonderful legacy of support for children with hearing loss.
Thanks to some overwhelming generosity, the event raised $5,086, taking Barry and Kayleen’s total to over $35,000 since the concerts began in 2016. These funds will give the gifts of sound and speech to children in our Early Intervention program, just like Barry and Kayleen’s grandson, Archie.
If you would still like to leave a gift, please visit our donation page and enter ‘Concert for Kayleen’ in the donation comments.
At 9.10pm on 24 October 2013 our beautiful daughter Maia was born.
The moment of elation was short-lived as we immediately noticed her left ear was missing. I frantically looked to the medical team around me for answers but received none.
Panic set in as we waited 4 days in hospital for an ENT to explain her condition, by which point we already had all the answers from Simone, who runs the Microtia and Atresia Program at Hear and Say.
