How Your Donation Helps
At Hear and Say every dollar counts towards helping our children to hear, speak and live to their fullest potential.
On average, it costs Hear and Say at least $10,000 a year to support just one child through our Early Intervention Program. Below are some ways in which your donation can contribute to supporting at least one child and their family.
For just one child in our Early Intervention Program across one year:
$25 – Family Handbook
Your donation of $25 will allow Hear and Say to provide a family with a handbook containing vital information and resources to help a newly diagnosed child.
$75 – Hearing Assessment Report
Your gift of $75 can help our audiology team to complete a detailed assessment report on a child’s hearing loss.
$200 – Technology Support
Your donation of $200 allows Hear and Say to provide parents with technical support for their child’s hearing technology.
$500 – Education Plan
A very generous gift of $500 helps Hear and Say to pay for an individualised Education Plan to guide a child’s entrance into their local school.
$1,000 – Cochlear Implant Programming
Your contribution of $1,000 can pay for the programming of a child’s cochlear implant twice a year.
$5,000 plus – Auditory-Verbal Therapy
An incredible donation of $5,000 or more, can pay for one years’ worth of specialised Auditory-Verbal Therapy lessons.
$10,000 plus – Early Intervention Program for one year
Join our Child Champion program by pledging to donate or fundraise at least $10,000 or more each year, which allows Hear and Say to pay for all aspects of at least one child’s Early Intervention Program.
At 9.10pm on 24 October 2013 our beautiful daughter Maia was born.
The moment of elation was short-lived as we immediately noticed her left ear was missing. I frantically looked to the medical team around me for answers but received none.
Panic set in as we waited 4 days in hospital for an ENT to explain her condition, by which point we already had all the answers from Simone, who runs the Microtia and Atresia Program at Hear and Say.
