Loud Shirt Day

Get LOUD for kids who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Friday, 22 October 2021

Loud Shirt Day is an international campaign raising valuable funds to help children with hearing loss learning to listen and speak.

It couldn’t be easier to get involved and show your support – all you need to start is a LOUD shirt! On Friday, 22 October 2021, rally your community together and don your loudest and proudest shirts. It may be as a family, at your workplace, with your friends and community group or at school. The opportunities are endless!

At the same time, you are raising funds to help give kids who are deaf and hard of hearing access to support and the gift of speech – how awesome is that!

“We have two children with profound hearing loss and because of the support we have received from Hear and Say, both Amelie and Xavier can hear and speak just like their peers. I am proud to support Hear and Say in both my roles as a father, and as the Managing Director of construction company, Mettle.” – Marc Kenney, father and Managing Director at Mettle

Ladies Long Lunch

An afternoon of champagne, fine food and laughter

This renowned sell-out event is led by three Hear and Say mums – Lisa, Tina and Alex – who have all raised children with hearing loss and know firsthand the impact of Hear and Say’s work. Each year, hundreds of guests gather for a sensational afternoon in some of Brisbane’s top venues, raising important awareness and funds for more families in need.

Hear and Say has made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Ladies Long Lunch, due to the uncertain conditions presented by coronavirus. Although regrettable that we weren’t able to go ahead with this year’s event, planning is already underway for a bumper Ladies Long Lunch in 2021.

“It is a privilege to raise vital funds for Hear and Say through the exhilarating Goodwill Bridge Swing event, and having now done it twice I would recommend that anyone daring enough should give it a go with me!”

Father-of-three, Tim Hughes was set to make 2020 his third year of participating in the Goodwill Bridge Swing, before coronavirus forced a change of plans! Read about Tim’s love for this event and why he’s committed to raising funds for Hear and Say, here.
