Sydney Microtia and Atresia Mini Conference


The Hear and Say Australian Microtia and Atresia Support Centre is pleased to offer our first Microtia and Atresia Mini Conference in Sydney.

WHEN: Saturday May 11 2019, from 9.00am – 12.30pm.

The day will include presentations on Audiology, Ear reconstruction, Navigating your journey and Patient stories.

There will also be opportunity for individual consultations with Dr Joe Dusseldorp. Please note that this is by appointment only, book using the registration link below.



This conference is now accessible with NDIS funding, resulting in no out of pocket expenses for parents who have children with NDIS plans.

Cost per family: $171.96
(Three hours of parent training)

This cost includes attendance on both
conference days for up to 2 adults, and an optional consultation.

Maia’s Story

At 9.10pm on 24 October 2013 our beautiful daughter Maia was born. 

The moment of elation was short-lived as we immediately noticed her left ear was missing. I frantically looked to the medical team around me for answers but received none.

Panic set in as we waited 4 days in hospital for an ENT to explain her condition, by which point we already had all the answers from Simone, who runs the Microtia and Atresia Program at Hear and Say.
